India Box Office: 'Baahubali 2' Shatters Records

Now, Amul has come up with their own ad based on the Baahubali fever and, as expected, it is hilarious.

SS Rajamouli's magnum opus performed well overseas and garnered United States dollars 555,129 on Monday taking the total collection to USD 10,774,477 or Rs 69.15 crore. The initial film launched on 10th July 2015 invited tremendous appreciation from the local and worldwide audience.

The SS Rajamouli directed film is taking huge strides ahead and there is no upper limit now to where it may eventually end up.

Baahubali 2 has occupied the 3 place in biggest grosser in the USA. The actor has overcome established South Indian actors like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan to become the first actor from southern cinema to be featured at Madame Tussauds. No other Telugu film in history has seen this kind of craze, as people are watching it multiple times. The film crossed the screen count for a big-ticket Bollywood film, which stands at 4,500 now. According to trade analysts, the 7 days / first-week box office collection of Baahubali 2 is Rs. 510-520 crores across the India including all languages.

According to latest reports, the makers of the film are planning to dub Baahubali 2 in Japanese. The film not just opened ultra huge, it also sustained itself exceedingly well right through the week hence bringing the kind of collections that have been unheard of. In fact going by the current rate of business the film is likely to be the first ever Indian film to gross over Rs. 1000 cr worldwide.

The Prabhas and Rana Daggubati-starrer movie was released on April 28 and it sweeped the box office like a tsunami in its first weekend. What's more, many prominent producers, including a few from Bollywood offered him leading roles in big budget films.

In seven days, Bahubali 2 has shattered the lifetime records of Aamir Khan's PK and Dangal, which raked in Rs 792 crore gross and Rs 730 crore gross, respectively, in the global market in their complete theatrical run.
