Amazon's Touch-Screen Smart Speaker Solves a Big Problem with AI Assistants

16 Mai 2017

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) on Tuesday unveiled a new Echo, a digital home assistant that has a touchscreen and can be used to make video calls.

The Echo Show device also offers an array of music-related features. There's also noise-cancellation built in, so the Show can hear your commands while playing music from its pair of 5cm speakers. The Amazon Echo show allows the users to do much more than ever before. You can stream YouTube videos, photos and other visual contents using its decent screen.

Amazon introduces its Alexa-powered device with built-in screen: Echo Show. Here's the Echo Show, an Echo with a touchscreen and camera. "But we'd love to have them create a skill for Echo Show", he added.

The Amazon Echo Show was revealed today for $230 Dollars and with all the fancy features of voice assistant Alexa and more. Amazon is selling the Echo Show for $299.99. This gen-next Amazon Echo speaker would come out in black and white color variants.

Amazon.com, Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) and its Amazon Echo line of smart speakers are doing a good job of dominating the tech news lately.

It works with all current Echo devices - although only in the U.S. for now - so if you have an Echo Dot or Echo, you can still call or message an Echo Show and vice versa.

Those who do not have an Echo hardware device need to download the free Amazon Alexa App, available on iOS and Android, and enable Alexa calling and messaging. Last month the retail giant announced the Echo Look, a $199.99 smart camera that ties in with existing Echo's to allow for Alexa to help you pick outfits. Owners can use it to make internet-based video calls. It's the Echo with a display that has been rumored for quite some time, and the company has already put the thing on sale.

Sending messages using the Echo can just be done with the voice. However, the device will begin shipping only after the 28th of June.

Amazon's Alexa voice assistant platform now has a face, and it's able to dial up your friends and family directly.
