James, Love lead rout as Cavaliers in roll in Game 1

Brown was an afterthought in the first round against the Chicago Bulls and had some contributions against the Washington Wizards-particularly in Game 7, when he scored nine points in 20 minutes on the floor-but he played his best game of the 2017 NBA Playoffs against Cleveland on Wednesday, registering 10 points and nine rebounds. They are a flawless 9-0 in the playoffs while the Warriors are one better at 10-0 this postseason.

The Celtics had no answer for LeBron James, who racked up 38 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

The Celtics opened with a plan to switch defenders off screens to prevent James from turning the corner on drives.

Stat H: With last night's Game 1 victory over the Boston Celtics, LeBron James improved to 2-10 (.167) in career playoff road Game 1s (shoutout Bleacher Report).

With Boston having home court advantage and the first two games at home everyone knew it would be tough to take the first two against Cleveland, even with home court.

There's always room for improvement, and the Celtics will be in serious trouble if the Cavs play any better than they did on Wednesday. "I don't even think we played that great tonight". "I just missed shots".

While the Rockets and James Harden looked awful in Game 6 against the San Antonio Spurs, the series was competitive with the Rockets forcing the Spurs to play some great basketball to advance to the Western Conference Finals. He is averaging 34.8 points, 9.0 rebounds and 7.1 assists in the playoffs. After missing all five 3-point shots in the opening 12 minutes, the Celtics missed 9-of-11 from deep in the second.

Game two is Friday at the Garden before the series shifts to Cleveland for games three and four. He got to the rim whenever he wanted, driving into the chests of Jae Crowder, Olynyk and Al Horford. Bautista homered in the 8th inning last night, stood at the plate, tried to make eye contact with the pitcher, and then flipped his bat high in the air like he'd just hit a walk off to win the game.

It was that kind of game in the fourth quarter as the Celtics hung close but had too much ground to make up and not enough defensive stops in them to really put a dent in the Cavaliers' big lead.

Boston found some energy following a nose-to-nose confrontation between Boston's Marcus Smart and Cleveland's Tristan Thompson, which resulted in both players getting fouls.

"So we're really lucky to be in the position because we've got a really good group of players that, I want to say older". He finished plus-17. In three Game 1s, he's scored 17, 18 and 32 points.

The four-time MVP LeBron James has been his usual forceful self - completing just under 35 points per contest - while Kyrie Irving averaging almost 24 points per matchup.

Isaiah Thomas, like many others, struggled offensively. "We did a lot to push it to seven games against that team". Add to it, the Celtics were the second best team in the league at defending the three. The Cavaliers stayed locked in possession by possession and just hammered them. He had nine rebounds, with six coming on the offensive glass.

Avery Bradley did what he could early, finishing with 21 points.

One of those most impressed with what they're seeing in these playoffs from the four-time NBA MVP, is James' former Heat and Cavs teammate Mike Miller.
