Celtics' Thomas out for rest of playoffs with hip injury

21 Mai 2017

The Celtics announced Saturday that Thomas, their leading scorer, was out after reaggravating a "right femoral-acetabular impingement with labral tear".

Thomas, according to McKeon, has been playing with the injury for a significant amount of time, dating back to a March 15 game against Minnesota. They are 10-0 in the 2017 playoffs.

The dude played just five minutes in a blow out loss, posting a DFS score 4.

James and Love again did whatever they wanted against the defenders the Celtics put in front of them, scoring 30 and 21 points, respectively.

Over the last two outings, he's averaged 14.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in 22 minutes of action.

A 5-foot-8 guard who was the last selection in the 2011 National Basketball Association draft, Thomas emerged as a star this season, averaging almost 29 points and leading the league in fourth-quarter scoring.

When the Celtics go up against other teams that are not quite complete enough, they can get by.

Rookie Jaylen Brown scored 19 for Boston.

Cleveland coach Tyronn Lue didn't agree with leaving James's name off the three-man nominee list.

"We're down", Horford said.

Oh... Oh dear. Here comes LeBron James literally crip walking into the arena. It was the eighth-straight game that James scored at least 30 points in the playoffs this season, tying Michael Jordan. He assisted on six of his team's 11 baskets in the half.

Whatever scrap of hope the Celtics might have had for being able to resemble something competitive against the Cavaliers is probably gone: Isaiah Thomas is officially out for the remainder of the postseason. Of course, the Bulls lost Rajon Rondo to a broken thumb in Game 2 and the Celtics had Thomas at full tilt, playing like insane to honor the memory of his sister who died in an auto accident. Late in the second quarter, Thomas was limping and he didn't start the second half.

He sat out the second half of Game 2 vs. Cleveland due to what the team called a hip strain. This will be Cleveland's first game at The Q since Game 2 of the Eastern semifinals against the Raptors on May 3.

Helping Out: The Cavs had 28 assists to just 12 turnovers.

"RJ [Richard Jefferson] has done that". The Cavaliers are heading towards a sweep and J.R. Smith knows it better than anyone. Green hit two treys in the first quarter. It has been a spectacle to watch the best player in the world completely unravel an opponent - the number one seed in the Eastern Conference - and destroy their confidence to the point that they unofficially waved the white flag.
