Kyle Busch scores $1 million with All-Star race victory

21 Mai 2017

"I think we had the vehicle to win tonight", Larson, who led the most laps and finished second, said.

Johnson won the third segment to advance but let the win get away on the restart of the final stage.

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will return to Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 28 for the Coca-Cola 600.

With that in mind, I took a look back at the races at Atlanta, Las Vegas, Texas and Kansas, focusing on how drivers have performed in the scoring categories used by DraftKings.

"The goal at hand is a million bucks", Bowyer said.

"So I'm proud of everybody on this Target Chevy team, especially our pit crew". You need to make them a spectacle for the fans and give the athletes a reason to care about them. I had to do that tonight.

"We're knocking on that door", Sauter said. "A good night for us overall".

"We've had a great response from fans during the ticket-renewal period, and we're excited to offer the discounted annual passes to all NASCAR fans", LVMS President Chris Powell said.

Busch made a late charge in the final, 10-lap fourth segment, making a move at the last restart to storm to his first win at the circuit. I hope it does.

In 12 all-star starts, Busch has three top-five and six top-10 finishes. He got in there. I had a decent start. "I knew to get out as soon as I could if I got that run on him".

"I had a couple of shots at him (Busch)". I can't say enough about this team and everybody on this M&M's Caramel Camry. "This race was kind of born off of exciting events that were in the race and bold moves, and we did one of those to win the race". Larson has been the class of the field in the first three segments and has to be a favorite. May.

However, despite entering the 10-lap shootout with the best average finish, Larson couldn't capitalize on his dominant start, restarting the final segment in fifth before finishing 1.274 seconds behind eventual champion Kyle Busch.

"We came down pit road in the lead", he said.

"Come next week, there is so much more rubber on race track and I've haven't been the best at adjusting to that", Larson said. But, in ten laps, track position is huge. He left me enough room at the second kink and we just checked out from there. We had cars that had taken two option tires, not option tires.

"So I think that's something that we could do a better job of publicizing a little more. Sometimes it works out for you; sometimes it doesn't". But I think we had a really fast vehicle today.

There are many different ways in which the sport could go about moving the race. Blaney couldn't hold the lead either and Johnson won the stage to earn the automatic berth into the finale. "We had to try something to get our average up or try to win a stage, and that's what we tried". Kevin Harvick, Chase Elliott - the Monster Energy Open Fan Vote victor - Joey Logano, Keselowski and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top 10. The softer tire was added to the race in an attempt to prevent that.

Notes: The race ran caution-free, except for the breaks between stages. Crew chiefs must strategize on when to use the soft tires, and Larson expects them to be a big factor in determining the outcome of the final stage. Kyle Larson and Brad Keselowski have been dialed in all year and are expected to be in the mix as well at +800 odds to win.
