Indian skipper Kohli denies reports of rift with coach

"I know it sounds pretty boring, but this is exactly what we feel as cricketers".

"People who even try to tell me about this, I don't even want to know anything of this sort".

It is learnt that there are four other Indians in the fray, including current coach Anil Kumble, a direct entrant into the process by virtue of being the current coach.

Arthur, appointed Pakistan coach in May past year added: "When we started this, the players would go and hit balls and hit balls and wouldn't really know when to stop". He further added that, "it's been really good working with Anil Kumble".

The latest move by the national cricket board has also fuelled speculation that the players are unhappy with the coach's style of functioning. The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) of BCCI which includes Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman and Sachin Tendulkar will take the final decision on it.

Speaking about the Indian bowling unit, Kohli said: "All bowlers bowled beautifully".

The former Pakistan T20 skipper also maintained that in order to succeed against the Men in Blue, Pakistan's bowlers would need to keep chipping away with wickets at regular intervals. Team looks to be very balanced which is reflected in the warm up matches. "It's a good headache to have", said Kohli.

In the warm up matches, the Indian bowling unit was successful with the ball and particularly in the match against Bangladesh, where they bowled out their opposition to only 84 runs.

Arthur, a former coach of both his native South Africa and Australia, added: "All I know is that the captain/coach relationship is nearly like a marriage. And I'm sure every team thinks like that".

On the composition of the side for the opening game, Kohli said: "All kinds of possibilities to pick the team".

"We don't play Pakistan often but they can create a surprise". Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravinder Jadeja were also promoted as batsmen and had become two of India's most dependable all-rounders.

"If I am in the position to take the team through, I would any day love to do that, whether I'm captain or not captain".

"Priceless to have MS Dhoni thoughts in the team". He says small things but that makes big difference. "When the captain especially isn't happy, then there is little that we or anybody from outside can do", an official said. "It might not be something actually happening on the field, but it could be something to do with practice sessions or team combinations".

Former Pakistan Test opener Aamir Sohail has slammed Indian policy of playing with Pakistan only in International Cricket Council (ICC) tournaments.
