Taking a jibe at Congress vice-president for his comments against Modi, Irani said, "The fact that Mr Gandhi chose to belittle the PM is not surprising in fact expected".
Rahul Gandhi said on Tuesday he was ready to take over as president of the Congress but it was up to the party to elect him to the post.
Accusing Modi for opening the space for "terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir", the Congress leader said: "When we started, terrorism was rampant in Kashmir". Mr Akhilesh Yadav is a dynast.
Another Congress leader Digvijaya Singh also tweeted in support of Rahul, saying that dynastic politics took place in RSS too.
Gandhi dodged criticism regarding dynastic politics by saying it was how Indian society worked. While Congress cadres and leaders felt Rahul's open admission of mistakes would go a long way in restoring people's faith in the party, and make the party acceptable to people once again, opinion was however divided over dragging in dynasts in films like Abhishek Bachchan and corporate sector - Infosys. Towards the end, on being asked about career choices, he said, "I've studied in India and in the U.S., and I found that were many cultural differences". He understands how to give a message to three or four different groups in a crowd.
The former union minister went on to say that the cash less economy was not the main objective of demonetisation.
"But when it comes to the Nehru-Gandhi family, they have spent five generations in service of the country", said the Congress leader."Ignoring India's tremendous institutional knowledge and taking ad hoc decisions is reckless and unsafe", Rahul said, adding "the government was creating only 500 jobs against a demand of 30,000 per day".
"These incidents are making millions feel that they have no future in their country", Gandhi added. What I sense is that he doesn't converse with the people he works with.
Gandhi added that it was a "tremendous machine, all day they spread abuse about me, and the operation is run by the gentleman who is running our country".
BJP on Tuesay slammed Rahul Gandhi for his remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP on foriegn soil.
Irani's attack was no match to the accusations levelled by Rahul who seems to have delivered one of his finest speeches in recent times.
Rahul Gandhi is on a two-week "study tour" of the United States to hone his preparedness for Lok Sabha elections of 2019.
