Bob Lutz Claims Tesla Is "Going Out Of Business"

Long-haul semi trucks, on the other hand, would be expected to go greater distances, and that would be challenging.

Not saying the next gen Roadster special upgrade package *will* definitely enable it to fly short hops, but maybe ...

Tesla CEO Elon Musk clearly revelled in the surprise reveal last week, making some bold claims in relation to the prototype's performance capabilities.

The founder of Tesla Elon Musk introduced the electric sports car Tesla Roadster, which can accelerate to 100 kilometers per hour in less than 2 seconds.

Of course, offering a longer range battery comes at additional cost to the manufacturer.

The Roadster supercar is slated for release in 2020 with a Founder's Series model priced at US$250,000 ($365000) and limited to just 1,000 models. They start with the industrial revolution, beginning in the 18th century; and are followed decades later by the age of steam and railways; then of steel and electricity; the age of oil, the car and mass production; and finally the information age, which began in the 1970s and continues today.

Two touchscreen displays positioned symmetrically on both sides of the driver provide easy access to navigation, blind spot monitoring and electronic data logging.

The chairman also shared a video of the company's electric-engine trucks. At that time, Tesla's range will also comprise the Model 3 mid-sized car, Model S large car and Model X crossover. Executives with equipment manufacturers say it is one thing to build a handful of trucks, but a different ballgame to pump out tens of thousands of units a year. Right now, there's little charging infrastructure on global highways. It's $200,000 for the base car with a $50,000 reservation. Anyone wanting to hitch a ride had to pony up a significant chunk of cash - equivalent to $66,315 Australian.

"These are business people, not fans, and they will need convinced that this truck is better for their balance sheet than existing technology".

It will launch at an introductory $200k (USD). Musk promised to "blow your mind" with his latest event, but not all in the market were convinced.
