With the growing portfolio of selfie-centric phones, Sony has just launched three new Xperia smartphones at the global consumer electronics show (CES) 2018 in Las Vegas. Running the show is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The Xperia L2 has a 13MP rear camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture, while an 8MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture is on the front.
Camera-wise, the XA2 is packing a 23MP shooter on the rear that comes with the ability to shoot video in 4K and slow-motion video at 120fps (frames-per-second). The front camera is equally powerful with 8-megapixel sensor and has 120-degree wide angle lens for some cool selfies. One of the biggest design changes is the movement of the fingerprint sensor from the side-mounted power button to the back - right underneath the camera lens.
Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra runs on Android 8 Oreo. At CES 2018, the company is launching the Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2 that all share the same general metallic design and wide-angle selfie camera. "It is said to retain the same 5.2" HD 720p display but the rest of its hardware details are not known at the moment. It comes with 3GB RAM and has 32GB of Memory Storage as inbuilt memory on the device. The L2 has a rear-facing camera of 13-megapixel. The Xperia XA2 Ultra and Xperia XA2 are mid-range smartphones and will be powered by Android Oreo 8.0. It is available in three colors, namely gold, black, and pink.
On the front of the phone are two front-facing cameras.
We don't know much about the entry-level of the Xperia L2, but it seems that it will keep up its ancestor's 5.2-inch display, with 720 pixels. It is backed by a 3,300mAh non-removable battery that also supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology. The smartphone features a 6-inch HD display and Sony's largest-ever battery of 3,580 mAh and runs Android 8.0. The Xperia L2 will launch in Single SIM and Dual SIM in select markets, in three colours: Black, Gold and Pink. The device could go on sale around the same time as the Xperia L2, i.e., some time this month or early February. While Sony may no longer be focused on breaking into the saturated USA market, the company is continuing to release devices in more receptive markets around the globe. Sony Xperia XA2 series has a rear fingerprint sensor with an aluminium body.
It has also been revealed that some regions will get a fingerprint sensor on the back of the device. The phone comes with 3,300 mAh battery which is a non-removable battery.
Okay, the Xperia XA2 looks like every other Xperia smartphone to have graced store shelves in the last few years.
Sony Xperia L2 will hit the shelves in late January.
