The first reviews for Black Panther are in and they are very, very good.

"Black Panther is incredible, kinetic, purposeful".

Could it surpass Deadpool's all-time February debut ($132.4 million) or even get close to the opening of an Avengers-style event film such as Civil War ($179.1 million)?

While some industry sceptics have repeatedly warned that "superhero fatigue" will soon plague the multiplex, The Black Panther is striking some viewers as an invigorating shot in the arm to superhero cinema - at least rivalling the cultural moment that WB/DC's Wonder Woman became previous year. "With gratitude, awe, respect and invigoration [sic]". I wasn't ready, ' said ReBecca Theodore-Vachon, of Entertainment Weekly. I imagine that these Dora Milaje train their daughters, and when she's ready to join the force, the mother who's retiring could take off her harness and hand it down.

Critics have loved the movie, but the audience will have to wait a bit longer to give their vote.

Fandango's Erik Davis hailed the movie as "the James Bond of the MCU", just like how Coogler expected his viewers to feel. So if you're not up to snuff on the rap scene, you can now see why it's such a big deal that he's producing the soundtrack for the anticipated Marvel movie. "It's 100% African and it is dope af [excellent]". This soon to be released Marvel movie seems to be well on its path to becoming a blockbuster, as Wilson Morales says. Extremely bold and as touching as it is thrilling, it boasts GOT-style intrigue, insane innovative action and a deep bench of memorable characters.

Black Panther now has a ComicBook.com User Anticipation Rating of 4.17 out of 5, making it the second most anticipated upcoming comic book movie among ComicBook.com Users.

"I think it's because it's different", said Boseman on the anticipation behind the film.
