Federal Bureau of Investigation warned about Florida shooting suspect

17 Février 2018

Cruz wasn't old enough to buy a handgun but there's no such restriction for rifles, shotguns or the AR-15 that police say he used to carry out the nation's deadliest school shooting in more than five years. Jereb added that Cruz had participated in one or more ROF training exercises in the Tallahassee area, carpooling with other ROF members from south Florida.

The group wants Florida to become its own white ethno-state.

He said his group holds "spontaneous random demonstrations" and tries not to participate in the modern world. "Honestly, a lot of people a lot of people were saying it was going to be him". No police reports were immediately available for those calls so it was not possible to determine whether Cruz was involved.

After the shooting, several of Cruz's former classmates described him as a troubled individual who had previously exhibited violent tendencies.

He said the defense team would be exploring mental health issues and "the possibility of autism".

Isaac Briones, 15, says Martin Duque was one of his best friends. Michael Carneal, then 14, later pleaded guilty but mentally ill to murder and is serving life in prison.

"It can not be denied that something unsafe and unhealthy is happening in our country", Sessions told a group of sheriffs in Washington.

"To every parent, teacher and child who is hurting so badly, we are here for you, whatever you need, whatever we can do, to ease your pain".

Other elected officials also offered ideas for reform.

Young survivors of Thursday's Florida school shooting that claimed 17 lives have torched politicians on social media and demanded they get serious about reforming America's gun ownership laws. Student Bruna Oliveda said she saw Beigel blocking the door. He was taken into custody after the incident.

Christopher Hixon was the high school's athletic director.

Two of the wounded remained hospitalized in critical but stable condition, while six others were on the way to a full recovery, officials told a news conference.

Cruz is being held without bond after he attended a brief hearing Thursday in Broward County court.

One student said Cruz had been abusive to his ex-girlfriend and that his expulsion was over a fight with her new boyfriend. If we don't clean up OUR COUNTRY of the garbage soon, we are just going to do a death spiral!" and "American Exceptionalism and the Navy Yard shooting do not go hand in hand. The school said Feis was shot and killed after jumping in front of students to protect them from the shooter. Nine involved no injuries at all.

Cruz fired "well over" 100 shots at students, teachers and staff, a law enforcement source told the Sun-Sentinel in Florida.

But Robert Lasky, the Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent in charge of the Miami division, said investigators were "unable to further identify the person who actually made the comment".

Bennight took a screengrab of the comment and called the Federal Bureau of Investigation. These are year-after-year, weekend after weekend, according to the neighbors, of police interacting with this family, with this shooter's family.

Cruz was getting treatment at a mental health clinic for a while but hadn't been there for more than a year, Broward County Mayor Beam Furr told CNN.

The boys were left in the care of a family friend after their mother died, said family member Barbara Kumbatovich, of Long Island.

The Associated Press reported on Thursday that Cruz began living with a local family after his mother died last November. Family friend Adam Schachtel said in a Facebook post that "an angel was taken away from us in that horrific words can be said so just prayers and sadness". He did have the key, however.

The texts were "very innocuous", Lewis said. And tonight, they're together again.

Daniel Huerfano, a student who fled Wednesday's attack, said that he recognised Cruz from an Instagram photo in which Cruz had posed with a gun in front of his face.

Students gather during a vigil at Pine Trails Park for the victims of the Wednesday shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, in Parkland, Fla., Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018.
