Manchester United don't need Paul Pogba: Liverpool game showed that - Craig Burley

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic believes the 2-1 win over arch-rivals Liverpool gave the team a great confidence boost ahead of the crunch Sevilla clash. Let's hope there's no repeat of what happened at the quarterfinal stage 20 years ago when, after a 0-0 draw in Monaco, Sir Alex Ferguson's side fell behind early at Old Trafford and went out on away goals.

McTominay who has been called up by Scotland for the Costa Rica and Holland games is expected to keep his a place tomorrow night alongside Nemanja Matic in front of the United defence.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford does not need verbal assurance from his manager about his importance to the team and said he is not anxious despite limited time on the pitch in the current Premier League campaign.

Liverpool will have had a week to get over that disappointment by the time they take to the field again, with Watford due at Anfield for their next outing on Saturday.

Rashford took just 25 minutes to show what Sanchez hasn't been delivering by scoring twice, doubling the Chilean's tally in a United shirt.

In the last ten games in all competitions, Sevilla has a 5-2-3 record with a 12:14 goal difference, which is 2.6 goals per contest, while seven out of these ten matches had less than three goals in the total.

And, for England, Harry Kane will not be replaced any time soon. They are now 11 points behind fourth-placed Los Che and will need to win the Champions League if they are to play in the tournament next season. Their form since the first leg is not encouraging.

However, their attempts were to no avail except for an Eric Bailly own goal, Liverpool didn't manage to mount a significant charge and lost the match.

At the same time, it has to be remembered that Sevilla were the team disappointed with the fact that the first leg ended goalless.

Former Manchester City winger Jesus Navas is unlikely to make the squad as he recovers from injury. The ball is now in the Mancunian court.
