Richard Sherman might have only visited with one team during his free agency tour, but that doesn't mean he didn't spend some time talking to other teams.
Sherman called out those who have criticized him for representing himself in the deal that went down over the weekend.
That's fine with Sherman, who told 49ers executives that his skeptics are already on his nerves. However, the enigmatic corner seemed anything but warm when talking to King about his move to San Francisco. Like many National Football League deals, they are dramatically different than what was first reported.
"I'm vengeful that way ... vengeful", Sherman said in an interview with Peter King of the MMQB. I helped the organization get to a great place and stay there.
Another fan took his rage to the road.
"Welcome back to the Bay and to Santa Clara @RSherman_25!" "The ability to play Seattle twice a year". They refused and will now have to look at Sherman on the opposite sideline at least twice in 2018.
An undrafted free agent in 2012, Shead has been with Seattle ever since and earned a starting role in 2016 as the right cornerback opposite Sherman.
"It was work! But we got it done!" Last season he missed seven games after suffering a torn right achilles tendon, in addition to having surgery on his left leg this offseason to clean out bone spurs. He expects to be physically cleared for training camp. His best seasons came in 2013 and 2014, when Seattle made two Super Bowl appearances, and he has 32 career interceptions. "We had a clause in a bunch of our contracts saying players got an incentive for making the Pro Bowl, even if they were medically excused from playing in the Pro Bowl".
Richard Sherman did not choose San Francisco for the weather or the money or the restaurant scene.
Thankfully for Sherman, and for 49ers fans, some bloggers are helping out on that end.
Sherman's contract is very low-risk for the 49ers.
"We had something no other team could offer", Lynch said.
Responding to Seahawks fans on social media who have criticized him, burned his jerseys and otherwise reacted with outrage that he's now a 49er, Sherman pointed out that they should be upset with the Seahawks, not with him. 49ers coordinator Robert Saleh was an assistant in Seattle from 2011 to 2013 and runs a carbon copy of Pete Carroll's Cover-3, single-high defensive system.
As a four-time All-Pro, Sherman's stats command respect, and he tweeted them out Friday. Last year, he allowed a 38.5 completion percentage, the league's second-best mark.
Sherman also sang the praises of Shanahan for his innovation, predicting the Garoppolo-Shanahan partnership would lead to a lot of wins. He also called Matt Patricia of the Detroit Lions and the Raiders Reggie McKenzie to let them know he had reached a deal with the 49ers.
