Liverpool to face Roma in Champions League semi-finals

14 Avril 2018

Roma have sent a message to Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah, after the Champions League draw that pitted the Italian side against the Jurgen Klopp's side.

Back-to-back winners Real Madrid will play German giants Bayern Munich in the other semi-final.

Liverpool will host Roma in the first leg on Tuesday 24 April, with the second leg on Wednesday 2 May (Live on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player).

The victor of the semi-final will travel to Kiev, Ukraine to play either Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool or AS Roma in the final of 2018 Champions League final.

"Salah's return? Liverpool's whole team is very strong, they have many important players and a great coach".

It could be an emotional end to the season for Heynckes, who led Real to the 1998 Champions League title but was nonetheless fired at the end of that season, then came back to win the trophy in 2013 with Bayern.

"They can say what they see, but each game I'm thinking about helping the team to get points, to score goals".

Zinedine Zidane and his men will face a daunting task in the form of Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, who have looked like a formidable side throughout the tournament. Mohamed Salah was brilliant once again and the front three of Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane were almost unstoppable against a team that has spent over 150M pounds on their defense in the a year ago.

SUSPICIOUS fans fear the Champions League draw was fixed as Roma advertised tickets BEFORE Liverpool were announced as their opponents.

Juventus fell a late penalty short of advancing past Real Madrid, but not for lack of trying by Mandzukic. They must be nervous shaking a leg with the his "Dhal Dhak" girl and he laughs, "If I was in their place, I'd be nervous too".

"Liverpool have made a statement similar to ours by knocking out the team I thought might be the favorites to win it all, Manchester City", Roma's veteran captain Daniele de Rossi told the team's Facebook page. With the second leg to be played at the Santiago Bernabeu, Los Blancos will like their odds to defeat Bayern Munich.

Liverpool will have happy memories of their meeting with Roma in the 1984 European Cup final which was played in the Italian capital with the English side winning on penalties. "In this hard league, to be pretty much safe for next year this early is really a special thing - they have all of my respect".
