After suffering three defeats in a week, including a Champions League exit, leaders Manchester City get back to business in the Premier League on Saturday but face another tough test at fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
The plan worked perfectly as Spurs were clearly very exhausted after about 25 minutes, and then came the knockout punch when Raheem Sterling scored the third and practically ended the match. They are an incredible team with incredible players all over the pitch but we are going to try to play our football as we always do.
Vincent Kompany is, however, able to step back in at centre-half after being an unused substitute in midweek.
There will be legitimate questions again about Hugo Lloris who conceded a penalty and pushed another chance back to the feet of Sterling for his goal, City's third.
The Lilywhites have won seven of their last nine league games and have not yet given up hope of reeling in Manchester United to finish second in the Premier League this season. A win will see the Terriers climb up the table while the Hornets will hit the 40 point mark if they get all three points. Heading into the final six games of the campaign, the Italian's side lie in fifth place, 10 points adrift of the top four and with Arsenal hot on their heels.
The Sky Blues could actually wrap up the title with five games remaining with a win on Saturday night should Manchester United falter on Sunday.
There are other issues that will take longer to correct. That mentality is so important and we've stepped up this season. Teams are picking their moment and running at their defence, taking advantage of their indecision and using spaces to score goals.
"Mo knows what this means and the way we play suits him", added Klopp. "That's not bad odds for us. We need to show ourselves that we can compete".
For weeks it has been a case of when, rather than if, City win the title and it is nearly certain to happen within the next week.
With Spurs on a six-game winning streak in the league and City having lost four in six in all comps, I think the Londoners can inflict some more pain on Pep Guardiola's men and win this in what should be an entertaining encounter. "After what happened and how the people reacted, these guys are fantastic".
"City were good from the beginning and were more aggressive than us". It was so good.
Another target United are said to me monitoring is Tottenham's Danny Rose, and should United sign the Englishman, this would free up space at Spurs. Golf, my son, friends, tomorrow is golf.
I think City would take a draw after the week they have had. "I am excited to be champions with our fans".
