Other African countries on the medals table included Uganda with 6 medals, Botswana with 5 medals, Namibia with 2 medals, Cameroon with 3 medals, Mauritius, Seychelles and Ghana, each with 1 medal.
In athletics, the male 4×100 relay team failed to start in their first round heat, after two members of the team, Martin Owusu Antwi and Sean Safo-Antwi were declared unfit after they picked up various injuries from the 200m semifinals and 100m heat events respectively.
The Roses' victory over the home side came after they fought back from a four-point deficit in the final quarter of the game.

It was their first ever major title and helped England to achieve their highest gold medal tally at an overseas Games since 1990.
"I think there's a few key things around our ability to convert all our changes and I think the outcomes need to be better but that's something we can work on".

Nigeria placed eighth at the 2014 games with 36 medals.
Meanwhile, host Australia finished atop of the table with 80 gold medals, 59 silver and 59 bronze medals.
"You can never measure the benefit of that, it's just part of who we are as New Zealanders, it's part of our national identity and something to be celebrated", he said.
"I've been waiting for this, and it makes it hard to leave when you win", he said.
