A bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud was also critical of the Jammu High Court Bar Association, which had passed a resolution not to attend the courts saying "it is the duty of the bar association as a collective body and they can not obstruct the process of law".

The members of the Bar Association assembled near the high court and marched to Lal Chowk, demanding justice for the victim and hanging of the culprits.

But even more reprehensible than such abuse of power, it is the response of the state government in hounding the victim of rape and her family instead of the alleged perpetrator that shows how perverted governance practices have become.

"I will have to be heard on this aspect (transfer of trial )".

The CBI has, however, refused to take the June 22 2017 medical report as well as alibi of the arrested BJP MLA as a "ploy" so far saying that the investigation was on and the agency was collecting evidences to reach conclusions in the case.

At the outset, Jaising, who mentioned the matter for an urgent hearing in the forenoon, said the "biological father" of the victim had no grievance with regard to the police probe.

Gowri from Mahila Mundade said, "If the BJP really sympathises with the victim, why are its female representatives in the state silent?" Charge sheet has been filed.

The family has alleged that the police refused to file an FIR.

He has demanded in his plea that the case should be transferred to Chandigarh, claiming that the trial might get influenced in Jammu. In this case too, I request the court to take suo motu action. "To safeguard the interest of Jammu, I will not hesitate to fight the government or meet the prime minister personally and reiterate the demand for a CBI probe into the Kathua rape-and-murder case which is the demand of lakhs of people", Ganga told reporters in Jammu on Saturday evening. Occasionally, when the loudspeakers around the stage fell quiet, she and her six friends chanted, "We want justice". I am the father. Every accused has been identified. He added, "we are depending on information from social media. We are handicapped".

The PIL filed by the victim's lawyer, seeks the transfer of case outside the J&K to Delhi.

They had sparked overwhelming public outcry after attending a rally in Hiranagar area of Kathua district organised by the Hindu Ekta Munch in favour of the seven people accused in the rape and murder of the minor. "Though the government has not yet received any complaint from the lawyers about threats to them, we are ready to take steps to give adequate protection to them and their families", he said.

The child was kidnapped on January 10.

The victim girl was adopted by the woman's brother and his wife in Rasana, a village of Kathua district when she was 1-years-old.
