One of the biggest new features on the photo-sharing app is the ability to let users video chat within the app. This allows users to share a song or a playlist they're listening to on Spotify as well as an adventure packed footage shot on a GoPro direct on to their Instagram Story or Direct. What's also worth noting here is that users aren't required to connect their Instagram accounts to other apps to share content on Instagram Stories. Taking advantage of Facebook's Camera Effects Platform, Instagram will bring AR effects from celebrity accounts such as Ariana Grande, Vogue, BuzzFeed or National Basketball Association. Using this feature will not display posts from the selected profiles until, of course, you choose to unmute.
Instagram is launching interactive camera "experiences" that will allow users to grab snippets from other accounts and add them to their Stories. He discussed the company's responsibility to introduce new services across all of its platforms - Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger and Oculus.
With a no-nuisance policy when it comes to bullying, Instagram is adding a filter to mask offensive comments on the platform.
What that means is if you come across some cool AR effects in your favorite celeb's Instagram Story, you can tap on "Try it on" to try out those effects yourself.
Facebook and Instagram Stories open to sharing from other apps
What kind of content can Instagram and Facebook Stories junkies expect to share from third-party apps? Though Instagram hasn't specified exactly the number of users that will be supported per group call, but the previews indicate the feature will be limited to four people at a time.
Instagram is also getting a revamped "Explore" section to improve discovery of things you're interested in.
Clear History: This feature will enable users to see the websites and apps that send data to Facebook. Hitting that would take you to a feed of other animal-related accounts and hashtags. Building on the filter for offensive comments, the latest filter is created to look for comments on appearance or character, as well as looking for threats. This will also roll out over the next few weeks.
The social messaging company is also on the verge of launching its in-app UPI-based payments feature for all the users in the country.
When people see the shared songs in Instagram, they will be able to tap a "Play on Spotify" button in the top left corner of their screen to then hear the music in the streaming app.
