Liverpool to 'recharge' before Champions League final - Jurgen Klopp

13 Mai 2018

"That's the situation but it's no problem to play the game, we have to play it anyway so now we have to win it, that's it".

Thanks to the defeat at Chelsea last week Liverpool still need a point to guarantee Champions League football next season and Klopp has not been instructing his players to keep their focus on Brighton on Sunday afternoon without being willing to do so himself.

After all, Liverpool only need a point, due to their superior goal difference compared to Chelsea, and have been held seven times at home this season.

Fellow promoted sides Newcastle and Huddersfield have also stayed up, while experienced Premier League trio Stoke, West Brom and Swansea have been relegated. Liverpool are set to lose their midfielder Emre Can to the Serie A giants, but could well manage to lure the German worldwide to Anfield as the Turin side look to overhaul their squad in preparation for the 2018/19 season.

Asked what he rated as his biggest achievement with Arsenal, Wenger said: "I would say from 2006 to 2015 it was certainly the period where I needed to be the strongest".

"We have to take it like it is and make the best of it, like it always is".

"That is how it is".

'I think we deserve it but we have to make the last step, ' said Klopp.

"The whole season was so far quite a joyride but very intense as well. Thank you for the incredible support this season and I hope that there are at least two more great memories for us to share before it is time for summer". A lot of teams could go on holiday on Monday.

"Belief and confidence are completely different to arrogance and complacency".

"But that's how it is for us".

Brighton were defeated by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in their previous game, and will be looking to end their season on a high. For now we are thinking only about Brighton.

The Spanish retreat will give Klopp the opportunity to recharge his side's batteries.

"We had so many tests to pass and the boys really delivered in almost all of them".

"It's not a camp. I really, really respect him a lot and I'm sure we are going to do something special for the club this year". It's to recharge the batteries.

They will have to field their strongest XI and will also have to hope that none of their first team stars pick up any injuries that might affect their chances in the UCL final later this month.

"The season has ended for most of the teams in the league, it's a nice time, but for us it's work".

The composure that has characterised City's record-breaking Premier League season ebbed away as misplaced passed were gobbled up by wave upon wave of Liverpool attack.
