Unsurprisingly, it was also enough to land Kolarov the "man of the match" honours, which he seemed fairly delighted about... A bullet of a left-footed shot which Real Madrid star Keylor Navas had no answer to. But he was powerless when in the 56th minute, the chic Kolarov free-kick sent the ball into the top corner of gate of the rival - 0:1.

Serbia's Dusan Tadic fights for the ball against Costa Rica's Francisco Calvo during their World Cup match. Serbia didn't qualify for the 2014 edition in Brazil.

FIFA World Cup 2018 Costa Rica vs Serbia will kick off at 5:30 pm IST on Saturday. The match starts at 20:00 on 17 June 2018.

The Roma defender reiterated that Costa Rica has a quick playing style and strong defenders, as well as well-known forwards.

It was nothing less than Serbia deserved for a dominant display, although the best chance of the first half went to Costa Rica's Giancarlo Gonzalez, who headed over from point-blank range.

The goal also represented a new record in this World Cup.
