Target's sale also takes a swing at Amazon's Prime Day, making a point to say the sale is for "everybody - no membership required". By about 4:30 p.m., many Prime Day links were working, and Amazon said later Monday that it was working to resolve the glitches.

Secondly, many Amazon competitors will host their own sales this week, and eBay is one of them.

Another advantage of Prime membership is that you get free, next-day delivery.
