By Trumpism, I do not mean a coherent ideological program, but a psychological phenomenon, or simply the manifestation of his character.
He also said he accepts the conclusion by United States intelligence officials that Moscow interfered in the election, which saw Trump defeat Democrat rival Hillary Clinton. Not only did President Trump fail to speak the truth about an adversary; but speaking for America to the world, our president failed to defend all that makes us who we are-a republic of free people dedicated to the cause of liberty at home and overseas.
But he again repeated his claim that there was no collusion between his presidential campaign and Russian Federation and suggested that others may have interfered in the election. Trump added that he did not "see any reason" why the Russians would have tried to interfere.
Toomey said in the statement that if Putin objects to the indicted hackers being brought to justice, the United States should impose new sanctions on Russian Federation. The summit, he said, was just "another layer of displeasure".
Here is the sentence: "All I can do is ask the question". I will say this.
"There are a number of things that were said that I think really make us wonder what [Trump's] role is with the Russians and frankly what the Russians expect out of him", Albright said. How many times have I stood up here and told you what I think about Vladimir Putin? "I am nervous that the longer this goes on that it's harder to fix and that the allies will take different roads and will decide that we are not dependable". But I have - I have confidence in both parties.
But he said there is broad understanding in both parties about the threat posed by Russian Federation and warned of more sanctions if the Kremlin attempts to meddle in any future election, including the midterms coming up in November.
In his latest Closer Look segment (embedded above), Late Night host Meyers first focused on some other "disastrous" moments from Trump's trip overseas, including his decision to walk in front of Queen Elizabeth II (a royal faux pas) at an event in the United Kingdom, and his incoherent answers to journalists' questions about Brexit.
Russian Federation did interfere in the election, full stop. Former CIA chief John Brennan claims that Trump's performance was "nothing short of treasonous" and that it "rises to & exceeds the threshold of 'high crimes & misdemeanors.'" That's plainly wrong. "And I don't think I need to point out that, at 54, there's not a lot of core left".
But for Trump these distinctions are meaningless. Last week, the department indicted 12 Russian intelligence officers on charges of interfering in the November 2016 vote. "We just saw what we needed to see".
Among the self-styled "resistance", the answer takes several sometimes overlapping, sometimes contradictory forms.
These theories can't be wholly dismissed, even if some overheated versions get way ahead of the available facts. Many lawmakers were eager to create distance, even as they often strained to give Trump the benefit of the doubt.
