If you're not already foaming at the mouth at the £999 starting price, you might also be interested to discover that the iPhone Xs represents the next era of Apple smartphones: it's the first IP68-rated iPhone; the one with the biggest screen (6.5in on the Max); has the biggest battery; and its display is fitted with a buttery-smooth 120Hz panel with HDR10 support.

On Tuesday, at Apple's latest event at the Steve Jobs Theater, CEO Tim Cook announced the launch of three different iPhone devices: iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. This year, it's the cheapest- the iPhone XR (that's pronounced ten-R).

Apple will continue to sell the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 in regular and Plus sizes. Apple sold nearly twelve times as many iPhones - 216 million - that year.

The XR comes with a 6.1in, 1,792 x 828 resolution display, inside an aluminium casing with a glass front and back.

The Series 4 range will have an edge-to-edge screen like the new iPhones and is packing a bunch of features aimed at turning it into serious medical device.

The Apple Watch Series 4 will go on sale in Hong Kong on September 21, starting at HK$3,199 for the 40mm and HK$3,399 for the 44mm.

"Apple watch has become an intelligent guardian for your health", he boasted. The new Watch includes a sensor allowing users to take an electrocardiogram they can share with their doctor. The company says it's the first EKG available over the counter. Here all you have to do while wearing the watch is to touch the crown - which serves as an anode and closes the loop created across your arms and heart.

The fall detection upgrade is expected to appeal to worker safety concerns in factories or other industrial settings, as well as to elderly or disabled users. If a fall is detected and the person remains immobile for more than a minute, the device automatically calls their emergency contact.

"I can see kids buying one for their parents and grandparents", analyst Patrick Moorhead of Moor Insights said. For more info, head over to Apple.

Apple gadgets were always pricier in Europe and overseas.

"It's definitely going to expand the detection", he said. "Or something else entirely?" Apple's dual SIM solution, in the USA, would enable someone to use AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile (but not Sprint) as their primary carrier while using any carrier that offers a SIM card as the secondary carrier.
