Derby knock out United out of Carabao Cup

Paul Pogba has told Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho he wants to leave, it has been revealed.

The news was delivered to Pogba and the rest of the players at United's Carrington training ground on Tuesday.

Pogba was critical of United's tactics in Saturday's 1-1 Premier League draw at home to Wolverhampton Wanders, saying the team should be more attack-minded.

This bad news was compounded by their side's dramatic exit from the Carabao cup at the hands of Frank Lampard's Derby, but despite this Jose Mourinho seemed unperturbed by the negative feeling surrounding his side in the post match interview.

United, whose squad includes World Cup victor Paul Pogba, David de Gea and Alexis Sanchez, said revenue is expected to be between 615 million pounds and 630 million pounds in the year to next June.

The midfielder has skippered the club three times this season and has been considered vice-captain by Mourinho.

Mourinho's strained relationship with the French World Cup victor is now at an all-time low after he took aim at the £89m star.

"We are committed to our philosophy of blending top academy graduates with world class players and are proud that, once again, last season we had more academy graduate minutes on the pitch than any other Premier League club".

"I think we said that when you play against teams from lower divisions it's going to be tough".

The retired England midfielder took over the reins of Derby in the summer as Lampard got his managerial career under way.

Romelu Lukaku's clever dummy let the ball run to Jesse Lingard and his pass reached Mata, who swept a cool finish into the far corner from just inside the area for his first at Old Trafford for 12 months.

But Derby had United on the ropes with their slick passing.

Bournemouth let a two-goal lead slip at home to Blackburn Rovers before Callum Wilson rescued a 3-2 win in stoppage time.

As for United, the malaise at Old Trafford shows no sign of abating.

The Clarets went in front through Kevin Long, but Burton reached the fourth round for the first time in their history as Liam Boyce levelled before Jamie Allen poked home the victor. It had taken a last-gasp header from United substitute Marouane Fellaini to take the contest into a shootout.
